Lowestoft Ward members learn how to save lives

By Chris Smithers

Church Leaders from the Lowestoft Ward discussed emergency preparedness and how they could engage more in the local community, they decided to reach out to St Johns Ambulance to arrange for some First Aid training for members of the Lowestoft Ward.

They were delighted to find out St John’s offered a free demonstration to community groups covering first response, putting people into the recovery position, CPR training and how to use a defibrillator.

12 local Church members participated in the training, which was simply presented and easily understood. They also enjoyed practicing their new skills on the dummies and each other.

They’re looking forward to our new friends from St John’s returning soon to repeat the demonstration as part of an upcoming activity for young people.

The event was also covered in the local newspaper The Lowestoft Journal.
